MUHAMMAD ALI LIFE MASK
A bronze life mask of Muhammad Ali made from a life casting taken on September 6, 1988 in Los Angeles. The life mask, which is finished in skin tones, rests on a marble base bearing a plaque inscribed Muhammad Ali American Spirit Foundation. The foundation had been recognized by the commission on the bicentennial of the Constitution and Bill of Rights which was chaired by former Chief Justice, Warren Burger, for a project of "exceptional merit with national significance and substantial educational and historical value." Muhammad Ali was one of a celebrated group of men and women recognized for their contributions to American society and was also acknowledged as "Most Recognized American." One of twenty-five made.
