A CORE-FORMED GLASS ALABASTRON
eastern mediterranean, possibly from rhodes
circa 5th century b.c.
Dark blue in color, the slightly tapering cylindrical body with a rounded bottom, short cylindrical neck and broad rim-disk, with an opaque yellow unmarvered thread wound horizontally at the shoulders, another of opaque turquoise below, and opaque yellow and turqoise threads near the base, with opaque yellow thread at the edge of the rim, and twin dark blue vertical ring handles with knobbed tails
