A EGYPTIAN MOSAIC GLASS INLAY
ptolemaic to roman period
circa 1st century b.c.-1st century a.d.
Formed from two sections, rectangular in form with four bound captives on a white ground, their bodies in brick-red, the almond-shaped eyes with black pupils enclosed in white with black lids, the hair black, the ropes in black and yellow, the figures divided by blue, yellow and green vertical stripes, enclosed within a yellow frame with a band of blue, yellow, green and red sections
