A ROMAN WHEEL-CUT GLASS BOWL FRAGMENT
circa 4th century a.d.
Free-blown of transparent pale green glass, preserving the rim and walls of a bowl with wheel-cut ornament, including horizontal bands below the rim, within a register perpendicular to the rim a dancing draped maenad playing castanets and a dancing figure of Pan holding a staff, stars and a crossed square in the field, divided from the next register by a band of X's between parallel lines
