A GREEK TERRACOTTA FIGURE OF EROS
classical period, circa late 4th century b.c.
The youthful god nude but for a himation draped behind his shoulders and over his arms, the left hand curled back to check its voluminous folds, the right hand holding a thymiaterion modelled with palmettes, wearing a polos, with upraised wings, standing on an integral base with a rocky outcrop to the right, with polycrome preserved on white slip throughout, including pink for the body, red for the hair, blue for the wings and gray for the base
