LEGENDARY BURGUNDY AND BORDEAUX
Property of a Lady
This cache of wine was discovered in the sub-basement of a Pacific Heights, San Francisco mansion in 1972. It is presumed to have been purchased in the late 1940s or early 1950s by the previous owner of the house, who placed the wine in a subcellar concealed by a massive stone hatch. The new owners discovered the wine and moved it to a north-facing basement passive cellar which maintains a temperature of about 53 degrees F. Bottles of Richebourg 1937, Romanee-Conti 1943, and Mouton-Rothschild 1945 from this cellar with levels equivalent to the best offered below were tasted by Michael Broadbent and members of Zachys/Christie's Wine Department, and these bottles were found to be in excellent condition for age.
Chteau Haut-Brion--Vintage 1929
