(Some minor marginal soiling with a few stains, some light even browning to text and plates, minor offsetting to some plates.) Contemporary calf gilt, g.e. (skilfully rebacked with original spine preserved, some stains). Provenance: M. Bourdier, medecin de l'armee (large letterpress bookplate, hand-dated 1742); armorial bookplate.
First Latin edition. "Cowper's atlas was published again in the mid-eighteenth century in both an English edition [1737] and this Latin edition, with impressions taken from the old plates.
