Vigart; G Barthe (early inscriptions on title); a few early marginalia; Humbert Mollire (recent pencil signature on front pastedown). Second edition in French. Vigo's surgical compilation, first published in 1514, was the most complete system of surgery after that of Guy de Chauliac. It remained a standard text for one hundred years after its publication, going through more than forty editions (of which a dozen printed at Lyons) in six languages. Nicolas Godin's French translation, first printed at Lyons in 1525 (by Benot Bonnyns for J. Planfoys), was the first vernacular translation, followed by an Italian translation in 1540. Like most early French medical books, the present edition is VERY RARE. Not in Baudrier. Brunet V, 1221; NLM/Durling Supplement 267; Wellcome I, 6617 (lacking title).
