Publie par ordre de sa majest l'Empereur et Roi, sous le ministre de S. le Vice-Admiral Decrs, comte de l'Empire. Redig par M. de Rossel, ancien capitaine de vaisseau. Paris: Imprimerie Imperiale, 1808. 2 vols. 4o (281 x 224 mm) text, (558 x 430 mm) atlas, on guards. Half-title in each text vol., 33 folding engraved in the text vols. (mostly coastal profiles at end of vol. I; plate of a compass, vol. 2), the atlas with engraved title, engraved leaf of contents and 39 numbered engraved maps, charts and profiles, many double-page. (Quire PP torn in blank margin in vol. I, atlas plates washed but some dampstaining remains on several plates, plate 25 torn and repaired.) Contemporary quarter green morocco gilt and green paper boards (joints of text vols. cracked, atlas vol. recased with new endpapers and with spine repairs, one corner cracked).
