Dr. Schnackenburg compares this to drawings by Isack in Brünn and Angers, B. Schnackenburg, Adriaen van Ostade, Isack van Ostade Zeichnungen und Aquarelle, Hamburg, 1981, I, nos. 434 and 439, II, both illustrated. He dates the present drawing, whose attribution he remains undecided on the basis of a photograph, to the early 1640s
