Fanny Kemble, afterwards Mrs. Butler (1809-1893), Shakespearean actress and daughter of Charles and Maria Theresa Kemble (presentation inscription [in recipient's hand on front free endpaper: "Frances Anne Kemble the gift of Sir Thomas Lawrence Tuesday November 16th 1829"; Butler Place bookplate).
