4o (200 x 155 mm). 49 + [1 blank] leaves. Dark brown ink. Ashkenazic semi-cursive script. Printed architectural title-page of unidentified Venetian origin. Numerous tables and diagrams, including three volvelles attached to fols. 19rv and 20rv to be used for various astronomical calculations, introduced with the words 'ke-she-tirtseh leda...' or likewise (fol. 20 with a tear from the margin toward the diagram), with later annotations, also in German, on the blank fols. 49v and [50]rv. (First leaf badly frayed and rubbed, crudely encapsulated in modern paper, frayed edges, thumbed and soiled.) Modern blind and gold-tooled light brown morocco, two modern paper flyleaves at back and front.

CONTENTS:
The year 5439 (= 1679) is referred to several times in the examples, hence the suggested dating. On fols. 48v-49r there are additional notes concerning the fair in Frankfurt am Main and forecasting rain.

PROVENANCE:
Gumpel ben Loeb Hamel and Menahem Levi, a teacher in Hamel (fol. 49r).
