SHI'UR KOMAH (kabbalistic order of services [Tikkun], consisting mainly of passages from the Bible and Zohar). MANUSCRIPT ON PAPER

[Morocco, 19th century]

8o (165 x 105 mm). 75 leaves, modern lead pencil foliation (Neubauer lists 86 leaves). Brown ink. North-African semi-cursive script. (Very poor condition, all pages affected, with considerable loss of text, although skilfully silked in archival tissue, some text faded.) Modern blind and gold-tooled black morocco, two modern paper flyleaves at back and front.

CONTENTS:
This Tikkun was regularly read on Shabbat afternoons in Morocco. The editor, Joseph Corcos, lived in Gibraltar for some time and compiled his book around 1800. First published in Livorno in 1825 (Vinograd, Thesaurus, p. 95, no. 736).
