Deep circular on trumpet shaped base, with berried laurel knop, the front engraved with Shanghae Races Autumn Meeting 1875 with crossed flags and characters below, The Chau Shang Kiuk Cup PRESENTED BY SOME OF THE EMPLOYEES OF The China Merchants' Steam Navigation Company the sides engraved with trophy inscriptions for Autumn Meeting with winners and dates, 1875 to 1882, the base also with Spring inscriptions 1883 to 1885, the base rim inscribed for 1886, the front applied with horse shoe, whip and stirrup, with two large dragons mask handle--12in. (32.3cm.) diam., 11in. (29.8cm.) high, 114oz.
