A SILVER-MOUNTED RAM'S HORN SNUFF MULL AND TWO POWDER HORNS
The mounts unmarked, probably 18th century
The first with mount on the end engraved with flowers and checker design, the top with cover with silver hinge, lower hinge engraved with man's mask with ram's horns, flanked by ewe profiles, applied below with banner engraved CUJUM PECUS, the hinge top engraved with ram's mask and banner engraved JAM CORNU PETAT--6in. (15.8cm.) long; the first horn with serrated edged silver mounts, the end applied with ring and ring handled stopper for compartment, the other end with mount engraved with trelliswork and foliate scrolls, mid section applied with crest engraved shield--6in. (15.2cm.) long; the last with upper silver mount, engraved with inscription--9in. (22.8cm.) long (3)
