According to the photographer, Clapton played Third Degree and Reconsider Baby on this Firebird at Philadelphia on April 13, 1995.

In a recent interview with Neville Marten for Guitarist, Lee Dickson recounted the story behind Clapton's acquisition of this guitar "...A guy in America who's a great fan of Eric's...brought it along during the day and I was asked to look at it. I said 'Yeah, nice guitar'. So when he asked if I'd give it to Eric, I said, 'Sure, I'll take it to him with your best wishes and, if he's willing to accept it, I'll try and get you to meet him after the show. So I take the guitar into the dressing room and Eric says, 'Let me try it', and this was about half an hour before the gig. He said, 'Yeah, stick some 10s on it and I'll play it tonight'. I knew where this guy was sitting, and I could see him looking at the guitar there in the rack. Then, when Eric walked on and I handed it to him, you could hear this guy above everybody else, going...YEEEAAGGGHH!!!"
