A 1970s Gibson Les Paul Custom
Serial No. 139653, in cherry red finish, with gold-plated metal parts, mahogany body with single cutaway, maple top, mahogany neck, twenty-two fret bound ebony fingerboard with block inlays, headstock face with split diamond inlay, truss rod cover with Les Paul Custom, two humbucking pickups, four rotary controls, selector switch, metal bridge, stud tailpiece and cream pickguard; and a brown hardshell contour case with pink plush lining and Lee Dickson's handwritten adhesive paper label Gibson Cherry Flame Les Paul 139653
The Gibson Les Paul Custom was introduced in 1954.
Eric Clapton commented that he liked the look of this guitar but found it very heavy to play.
