A 1990 Gibson Chet Atkins Standard
Serial No. 90810523, in black finish, body with single round cutaway, top with soundhole, nineteen fret ebony fingerboard, slotted headstock, wooden tie block bridge with transducer pickup, two upper bout roller controls; and a brown hardshell contour case with pink plush lining and Lee Dickson's handwritten tie-on label Gibson Chet Atkins Black Elec. Gutstring Ser.0810523 and adhesive paper label similarly inscribed

The Gibson Chet Atkins Standard model was introduced in 1982.

Eric Clapton used this guitar for a considerable amount of stage work and on several numbers including Can't Find My Way Home. After his 1990 tour, in a moment of fatigue, Clapton apparently said to Lee Dickson ..."I never want to see that guitar again - Get rid of it!...". He appears to have changed his mind however as the guitar has remained in his collection until now.
