in natural finish, maple body with single round cutaway, spruce top, maple neck, twenty-one fret bound ebony fingerboard with fan-shaped inlays, headstock with scgc motif, ebony pin bridge and clear protective pickguard; and a black hardshell case with black plush lining and Lee Dickson's handwritten tie-on label Santa Cruz Blonde TC 15 and adhesive paper label similarly inscribed
Eric Clapton said that he bought a Santa Cruz after seeing a picture of it in an ad. in Guitar Player magazine. He loved the shape and look of it. It is one of the first flat tops he used with a cutaway. Clapton recalled using this guitar in the early '80s for home playing. This guitar was apparently custom built for Eric Clapton to replace another Santa Cruz he had which was damaged in the Bahamas.
