ARIETTA
Arietta, a Napa red wine produced by winemaker John Kongsgaard in partnership with Christie's wine consultant and auctioneer Fritz Hatton, debuted in the Fall of 1998 with the release of the 1996 vintage. The 1996 Arietta was made from grapes sourced primarily from Lee Hudson's vineyard in Carneros; the cpage is 66 Cabernet Franc and 34 Merlot. Production of the 1996 was 292 cases. In the 1997 vintage Arietta reached its full production of 700 cases of bottles and 40 cases of magnums. The cpage of the 1997 is 75 Cabernet Franc and 25 Merlot, and all grapes came from the Hudson vineyard. The 1997 offered below is the first to be sold to the public, and the first magnums ever offered by the winery. Official release date is September 15, 1999.
