STAG'S LEAP WINE CELLARS
Warren Winiarski, the owner of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, is one of the most thoughtful and creative of all California wine producers, and certainly one of the most promotionally-minded philosophers ever. From his involvement in the famous "Judgment of Paris" tasting in 1976, to the creative use of wine and related events for patriotic philanthropic causes in recent Napa Valley auctions, Warren is usually a step ahead. His flagship wine, "Cask 23," is produced in 1,000 case quantities when vintage conditions permit. There is no Cask 23 in 1996, however Warren Winiarski believes that the SLV and Fay Vineyard Cabernets will be among the best ever. These wines have not yet been released.
