A CRESTED FAMILLE ROSE PUNCH BOWL
CIRCA 1775

Painted front and back with a rococco cartouche containing the crest of Hope of Craighall, a broken globe beneath a rainbow terminating in clouds, above the motto AT SPES NON FRACTA on a purple ribbon, the sides with rose sprays and sprigs, a large rose in the center below a gilt spearhead border (wear to interior and to grisaille)--13in. (33cm.) diam.
