One half of each decorated with floral scattered sprigs on a white ground and the other with gilt stars dotted on a chocolate brown ground, all within a green garland border around the shaped rim (stacking wear, scattered tiny chips, one with rim line)--6 3/8in. (16.2cm.) diam. (2)

This so-far-unexplained pattern was used in a dinner service made for Joaquin Xavier Batello de Lima, Archbishop of Evora, in about 1785. See Howard and Ayers, China for the West, p. 549.
