These three seals are unpublished, though a similar piece from a different bulloterion, with the legend divided differently, has been published (Seyrig 192). Brachamios continued to serve the Empire well despite the worsening situation in the east, and continued to win favours and distinction. Here he has attained the highest dignity of the Empire, that of protosebastos, chief among the sebastes, an honour no doubt bestowed on him by Alexius Comnenus, and which he held until his death in about 1090.
