cover -- 1839 (3 May) entire letter from Grenada to London, rated "2/2" and inscribed "pr Berkeley", the reverse showing two superb strikes of the unframed "INDIA LETTER/KINGSBRIDGE" (In.4) in red, one being across the join (overstruck by London arrival d.s.), the other with small portion missing due to seal removal but not detracting from the fine appearance. No other example of this marking has been recorded and its erroneous application in this instance make for a wonderful combination of unique marking and most unusual usage. Photo
