Giuliano de'Medici, Duke of Nemours (1478-1516). These medals were made for distribution at the festivities held on the adoption of Giuliano as citizen and baron of Rome in 1513. It is as an officer of the church that Giuliano is depicted, with the reclining figures of Day and Night, by Michangelo, in the New Sacristy of San Lorenzo.
