A CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY SLANT-FRONT DESK, Rhode Island, 1760-1780, the rectangular top above a thumbmolded slant lid opening to a fitted interior with central shell carved prospect door enclosing three small drawers flanked by small shell carved drawers over valanced pigeonholes above a block-front drawer further flanked by a bay of three block-front drawers, the top drawer with shell carving, the case fitted with four graduated long drawers, on ogee bracket feet (repairs to feet), appears to retain original brasses--43in. high, 37½in. wide, 21½in. deep
