A live steam pressure paraffin fired model of the Royal Naval 'D' Class cruiser Dunedin of 1918
Built by bassett-Lowke
With masts and rigging, anchors with 'D' chains, capstans, bollards, deck rails, bridge with fire control over, main and secondary armament, searchlights, torpedo tubes, funnels, ventilators, two ships boats in davits and other details. Power plant details include a horizontal copper cross tube boiler with normal fittings, pressure paraffin tank with pump, pressure gauge and 'blowlamp' burner and steam line to Stuart Score enclosed crank high speed engine with displacement and valve chest lubricators, disc flywheel and gear drive to two contra-rotating shafts with three-blade propellers. The hull, carved from the solid, is finished in grey and brown, with maker's plate
