A 33cm. diameter terrestrial library globe made up of a mosaic of twenty different types of semi-precious stone laid down on a hollow mould, the equator and meridian graduated in degrees, the oceans made from lapis, the continents with nation states made from stabilised turquoise, mother of pearl, picture jasper, amethyst, abalone, aventurine, unikite, mahogony obsidian, snowflake, rhodonite, tigereye, natural granite, malachite and others, with no physiacal or political geographical details apart from national boundaries, the names of countries labelled and some cities, with stamped brass meridian circle and reproduction nineteenth century horizon showing graduations in degrees, compass directions, names, pictures, and days for the housesof the Zodiac, days of the month with names, the edge coloured red with further red and green highlighting, on mahogany stand, the horizon on three curved supports with three central spats to bulbous meridian support, the whole raised on concave sided tripod base with mono-podial inswept legs terminating in lion's paw feet
