A 48cm. diameter, made up of twenty-four printed and coloured paper gores, united at the equator, the continents showing mountain ranges as if in relief, national boundaries faintly outlined in black, the trade label with colour code for elevation of mountain and land masses, some lakes and rivers shown in blue (many old abrasions, some cracking and extensive old repair over the Pacific Ocean), with engraved brass meridian circle, printed horizon ring, raised on four quadrant supports on enbonised wood stand with compass, mounted on a wood frame arranged to swing out from the central column
