Lot Essay

A partial copy after the original of circa 1759/60, on canvas, 138 x 257 cm, in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna (see A. Rizzi, Bernardo Bellotto - Dresda Vienna Monaco (1747-1766), 1995, pp.126ff, ill.). The Schlosshof was built between 1725 and 1729 by Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt for Prince Eugene of Savoy.
