THE "CONGLOMERATE" VASE: AN IMPORTANT SILVER AND MIXED-METAL VASE MADE FOR THE PARIS EXPOSITION OF 1878
MAKER'S MARK OF TIFFANY & CO., NEW YORK, 1878

Of Mei ping form, the spot-hammered surface applied with bands of three variations of mokume, above gold-splashed patinated copper pods, sentoku gourds, and gold polonia shoots, the cup-form neck inlaid with neillo and copper Japanese maple leaves, the oxidized iron base applied with silver, sentoku, and gold polonia between repousse bracket-form supports, the base molding engraved TIFFANY & CO. N.Y., also struck with French control marks - 20¼ in. high.
