The arched open back carved with entwined foliate scrolls, the moulded rectangular seat above a floral entrelac border, the pierced shaped sides carved with foliage, minor restorations, redecorated, with traces of black paint

Lot Essay

The open back of this hall bench is composed of two entwined scrolls, and is virtually identical to the hall bench in the 'Haarlem' dolls' house of Sara Roth (1699-1751), which was completed between 1743 and 1750.
