Two Japanese Imari models of bijin
Edo Period (late 17th Century)
Decorated in various coloured enamels and gilt on underglaze blue, the women standing with the right foot forward, the kimono loosely draped sliding down the left shoulder revealing the robe underneath, held up with the right hand just below the obi, lavishly painted with foliage, fans, stylised flowers and geometrical patterns (one repaired, the other with chip)
