lithograph, 1922, on wove paper, watermark Johann Wilhelm, second (final) state, signed in pencil, inscribed 'Liegende Dame' by another hand in the lower left margin corner, from the edition of about 50, published by I. B. Neumann, Berlin, with margins, the full sheet as published, a short tear at the left and lower sheet edges, some creasing at the left and lower sheet edges, a tiny stain towards the left sheet edge, otherwise generally in good condition

Lot Essay

Johanna Loeb (1880-1948) was the wife of Karl Loeb (1870-1930)(see the preceeding lot). She was portrayed several times by Beckmann, appearing in two other lithographs Zwei Frauen (H. 245) and Gruppenbildnis Edenbar (H. 277).
