MAKER'S MARK OF JOHN BREVOORT, NEW YORK, CIRCA 1740

Compressed pear form, on molded circular foot and with molded midband, the scroll spout octagonally facetted, the handles sockets also octagonally facetted and supporting a carved wood scroll handle, the domed cover with molded midband and surmounted by a tall baluster finial, the base engraved with block initials C*H and with scratch weight 21 oz.=9 pwt, marked on either side of upper handle join--7 1/2 in. high
