Frederick Fiebig recorded views of Calcutta in both lithographic and photographic form in the mid-19th Century when the former medium began to be replaced by the latter. Fiebig's lithograph is engraved from his drawing (he also executed the drawing on stone) from the viewpoint of the Ochterlony Monument, through 360, starting with the view to the South (Alipore), taking in the Strand, Cricket Ground, Town Hall, Government House, Esplanade Row across to Ghouringhee.
