A fine album with an extensive selection of views from western and northern India including sites of architectural or historic interest; street scenes, some with traders; the Imperial Assemblage at Delhi (4); an interior of the Durbar Hall and the palace gardens at Jeypore; Simla in summer and in winter, the latter showing trees heavily-laden with snow; several views in Kashmir including a shooting party at Camp, Srinagar, river and mountain landscapes; the source of the Ganges; and a striking view of H.M.S. Serapio docked alongside small native craft.
Portraits comprise the Nizam of Hyderabad and suite; the Maharaja of Gwalior and suite; the Maharaja of Kashmir and suite; the young Maharaja of Pattiala and suite; Nautch girls; 'Hill Coolies'; 'Mairwaries'; 'Jemardars and Lumbardars'; Fakirs; Mahomadans; Brahmins; Rajpoots; and snake charmers.

Other subjects include the Viceroy's elephants; camel and bullock carriages and carts; state carriages; warriors and others on horseback; hunting groups, one including the Prince of Wales; native soldiers at a Nepalese outpost; and elephants including Jung Pershad with the fighting elephant of Sir Jung Bahadur.
