Complete with fifty-one Woodburytype photographs, each approx. 9 x 7 in. or the reverse, mounted one-per-page with printed plate number and descriptive text, title page, list of committee members, list of award winning items in each category, report by H. H. Cole, original cloth (damaged), titled in full on front cover, titled Indian Art and Factures with remnants of library catalogue label on spine, folio.

Lot Essay

A rare book of excellent photographs of the displayed specimens in each of the exhibition categories: carved ivory, enamel, lacquer-ware, Moradabad and other metal work and miscellaneous objects. The text describes the objects and lists the lenders to the exhibition, including the Viceroy, the Marquis of Ripon.

Illustrations:

plate V - Wooden mirror frame inlaid with ivory contributed by the Nawab of Tonk; paper-cutter of carved ivory by Moung Nyein of Burma (silver medal); and three "Bartanas" of carved ivory, lent by His Highness the Maharana of Udaipur.
