Inlaid overall with ebony lines, the hinged crossbanded sliding top, enclosing a crossbanded, figured interior, above a frieze drawer, on a ring-turned and gadrooned cut-baluster shaft, the reeded legs headed by patera and terminating in gilt-metal acanthus caps and castors, the castors stamped with numbers and three stamped 'TR'

The table's reed-gadrooned pillar is supported on a Grecian-scrolled and pattera-enriched 'claw' in the early 19th Century antique manner such as features in R. Ackermann's 1809 furniture pattern issued in The Repository of the Arts (see P. Agius and S. Jones, Ackermann's Regency Furniture and Interiors, London, 1994, p. 47). Pier tea-tables of this type were often supplied en suite with a circular centre table, and one such table with reeded and patteraed 'claw' is illustrated at Glin Castle, Ireland in J.O. Brien and D. Guinness, Great Irish Houses and Castles, London, 1992, p. 152.
