Gillows of London and Lancaster supplied a related pair of Grecian sofas with flute-enriched seat-rail, arm-scrolls and legs to John Lloyd Wynne, Esq. (d. 1862) for Coed Coch, Denbighshire. They are illustrated in the Gillows Estimate Sketch Book, dated 16 December 1806 (Gillow MSS in Westminster Library no. 1807). The sofas were sold by a descendant of John Lloyd Wynne of Coed Coch, in these Rooms, 18 April 1996, lot 229.
