Even though the front has been reveneered, the marquetry is now very reminiscent of the production of Pierre Roussel, with contrasting foliate and floral spray reserves inlaid sans traverse within shaped reserves. A related commode, very similar in shape, is illustrated in P. Kjellberg, Le Mobilier Franais du XVIIIe Sicle, Paris, 1989, p. 730, ill. D.
