A PAIR OF CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE JARDINIERES

Each enamelled on one side with two cockerels amongst peonies on a fenced terrace within a shaped panel, the other side with a pheasant perched on rockwork within a similarly shaped panel, all reserved on a pink ground embellished with a scrolling lotus, applied on either side with iron-red and gilt Buddhistic lion's head handles, the flat everted rims with cartouches of peony on a pink trellis-pattern ground, the foot and shoulder with bands of exotic butterflies amongst flower sprays, one with body crack restored and rim frit, handles fritted, on later giltwood foliate tripod stands
