Johann Nepomuk Passini (d. 1874), born in Vienna, was initially known as a topographical engraver, but with the rise of photography he turned towards landscape painting in the 1860s. He worked in Graz for the last 22 years of his life. Among his decendants are the potter Rita Passini and the illustrator and painter Hans Fronius.
