Lot Essay

Antoine Nicolas Delaporte, matre in 1762.

Established until circa 1780 in rue de Clry, Antoine Nicolas Delaporte worked mainly under Louis XV, producing fauteuils en cabriolet, fauteuils la reine and bergres. A pair of similar fauteuils la reine stamped by Delaporte were sold anonymously in these Rooms, 12 June 1997, lot 108; while another related pair stamped 'M.D.L.P' was sold, tude Millon et associs, Paris, 27 May 1998, lot 181.
