A SUITE OF EIGHT MAHOGANY SIDE CHAIRS

Each with a padded seat covered in close-nailed blue flowerhead-filled close-cut velvet, the tablet back with central ribbon-tied laurel-wreath panel and scrolled foliate and palmette cresting above naturalistic animal front legs and paw feet and splayed back legs, each front-rail branded with a ribbon-tied laurel wreath centred by an 'N' and with the inscription 'GARDE MEUBLE', four chairs with metal plaques numbered respectively '520','684', '1256' and '120' on the front-rail, one back-rail with indecipherable ink inventory number, two back-rails with upholsterers' stamp, minor restorations (8)
