En suite with the two previous lots, banded overall, the rounded rectangular white-veined grey marble top above a long frieze-drawer and two doors enclosing a fitted interior with three sliding open shelves, the plain sides above a stepped moulded plinth and on turned bun feet, the back of the commode with a fruitwood plaque stamped 'MLLE AMICIE DE CASTRO CORDIER SCEY SUR SONE 1831' minor restorations, the marble possibly later, the back bun feet partially lacking

Lot Essay

Cordier, was established at 12, rue de Mcon in 1836 and subsequently at 23, rue Jacob in 1839.

A similar Charles X commode from the Estate of Mrs. Alexander Brailowsky was sold Christie's New York, 30 October 1993, lot 304.
