Voyage autour du monde, par la frgate du Roi la Boudeuse, et la flte l'toile; en 1766, 1767, 1768 & 1769. Paris: Saillant & Nyon, 1772. 2 volumes, 8 (19.5 x 12.5cm.) Half-titles, 3 folding plates, 21 folding maps. (The plate facing p. 89 in vol. II torn with some loss, a few other plates or maps with small tears.) Second enlarged edition of the account of 'France's first official circumnavigation of the world' (Hill p.31). This copy has the world map and a number of the other maps with neat manuscript additions, apparently contemporary and by de la Bdollire: his intention seems to have been to incorporate the latest available geographical information. 'The expedition visited the Tuamotu Archipelago, Tahiti, the Samoa Islands, the New Hebrides, and the Solomon, Louisade, and New Britain archipelagos. There is a long description of Tahiti, observations concerning the natives, and a vocabulary of 300 words used on the island given at the back of the volume' (Hill op. cit. p.31); Sabin 6866. (2)
