An Account of Col. Crockett's Tour to the North and down East...written by himself. Philadelphia: 1835. 12 (17.9 x 11cm.) Engraved frontispiece portrait. (Spotting to frontispiece and offsetting to title.) Contemporary red cloth, printed paper spine label (spine faded, slight creasemarks to upper cover). FIRST EDITION. Describes the celebrated tour to Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York and Boston undertaken in 1834 after his election to the Twenty-third Congress. Howes notes that the text has been ascribed to Augustin S. Clayton, of Georgia, a friend of Crockett's. A second edition appeared in 1845. Howes C896; Sabin 17565.
