Provenance: Sir Arthur de Capell Brooke (1791-1858, ownership inscription and bookplate). FIRST EDITION. General Worge (1707-1774) is described on the title page as 'Colonel of the 86th regiment of Foot and Governor of Senegal in Africa,' and the latter part of his 'war-spent life' in the then English colony of Senegal is felt by his biographer to be of 'peculiar' interest.
